Back to the shores

Inbetween a lot of football (the Euro-Cup has started), some knitting (sneaker socks for birthday on Tuesday- check!), popcorn and cake we sneaked in some lunch at the river. And I think we found our new favourite spot, very lonely, green, enough driftwood to keep our fire going all summer and a sandy beach with soft waters for Aaron to play in. Now you know were you can find us this summer.
I don't know why I even bothered to bring toys for Aaron (for playing in the sand I thought) when there are rocks to throw in the water. What a boy needs... At one point he was standing up to his shirt in the water but Mama had brought enough clothes and shoes. But energy was at a low point so Papa had to help out for the long way home. We were not too sad though, the Italy - Spain match was coming up and the little boy was sleeping neat and tight by the time it started ;-)
Joining Amanda for Weekending today, such a delight!

  1. He is such a cutie. Sound like you found a wonderful spot there!
    Enjoy the football - my husband bribed Kaya into supporting England, so I'm kind of on my own here - oh well. :)

    1. Nathan is also supporting England. He is an Arsenal fan and very much into the Premier League. Aaron, not so sure yet, so far he prefers the real thing, just like Kaya ;-)

    1. Oh Lori, that is a wonderful thought. I will have to talk to Nathan about it and we come up with something special! Thank you! Today we only grilled some meat and potatos as we hadn't given it much planning before and not even any vegetables left, except onions I now remember, oh no, why didn't I take some onions? Well, I hope there will be many more days at XY to come...

  4. What a gorgeous little boy you have there.
    Our boys are the same - all they need are stones and pebbles that they can throw into the creek across the road!
    We love it too when they're asleep by the time our favourite TV show comes on...

    Danke auch für den schönen Link; eine wunderbare Website! Wenn der Tag nur mehr STunden hätte zum Lesen und Inspiriertwerden...
    ganz herzlich;

  9. So beautiful, father and son next to the fire. And driftwood - I don't think I have ever set my hands on a piece of driftwood, we have never lived near enough a riverbed, or maybe i just do not know what to look for? That beach is perfect, definitely the place to spend summer!
